Here are 9 simple actions you can safely perform:<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>
  • 1<\/span>

    Replace your filters and cartridges<\/strong> when dusty or according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If your HVAC system thermostat has a reminder option, remember to reset it!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  • 2<\/span>
    \n

    Always keep your ventilation control (fan)<\/strong> in continuous operation mode for added comfort.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  • 3<\/span>
    \n

    Clean the HVAC system air outlet grilles<\/strong> at least 1 or 2 times a year.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  • 4<\/span>
    \n

    Have the air ducts cleaned<\/strong> every 4 to 5 years.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  • 5<\/span>
    \n

    Clean the air exchanger filters<\/strong>, fan, Carrier heat recovery unit, and water drainage hoses according to the frequency recommended by the manufacturer.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  • 6<\/span>
    \n

    Replace humidifier components<\/strong> as the manufacturer recommends, usually once a year. These components used in your humidifier model (cartridge, gasket or cylinder) vary.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  • 7<\/span>

    Make sure to clear the space<\/strong> under your outdoor heat pump unit. Do not store anything underneath, and remove dead leaves and snow.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  • 8<\/span>
    \n

    Clean the exterior<\/strong> of the outdoor unit with a standard garden hose.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li>

  • 9<\/span>
    \n

    Clean the interior<\/strong> of the HVAC unit following the manufacturer’s recommendations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/li><\/ul>
